I get a lot of emails in my inbox with questions from women around all things menstrual cycle and living from your Inner Woman. And PMS is a topic that frequently pops up, both in my inbox and private sessions. One of those emails was from ‘T’, an amazing woman I met when I lived in Thailand years ago.
She wrote: I feel betrayed by my cycle
Self Breast Massage is amazing. Your breasts are energy centers, chakras of your feminine body, of feelings, emotions, love, orgasmic energy, and deep nourishment.
Because breasts are such key energy centers of the female body, breast massage is an important women’s vitality practice for your physical and emotional well-being.
It’s one of those simple practices that have added so much nourishment to my life, and I recommend it to every woman, at any age.
For most women perimenopause & menopause is not something you prepare for, it is something that happens. A season of life that comes to claim you.
If we lived in a world where women’s wisdom was intact, and we lived in harmony with our bodies and the earth, we would enter perimenopause & menopause with all the inner wisdom that is acquired when we’ve lived for decades in a relationship with the cyclic wisdom within our womanly bodies.
We would arrive at the door of perimenopause & menopause as ripened women, who had worked deeply with our bodies, emotions, sexuality, and used every menstrual cycle to come home to ourselves.
Last night ‘D’ popped into my inbox with a Q: Does Yoni Steaming help post menopausal women, and if so, how? I was just about to simply email my answer to ‘D’, but then I remembered that I’ve received this question a few times now.
So for all the women wondering if Yoni Steaming can do anything for you on the other side of menopause, the answer is yes!
My hands arrive on my body. Warm hands resting on my soft belly. We meet each other, my feminine body and me. Her untamed breath rising and widening to greet me. And my inner eyes, blinking open in the dark, as we fall into each other.
Today I want to share with you one of the practices I use to sustain my connection to my Inner Woman™ on the daily. My yoga mat has been my pilgrimage place since my early teens. Although my yoga practice and teaching has evolved and transformed, it has always been my place for coming home to myself.
This Inner Woman™ Yoga practice is short and sweet. These short mini practices, I like to call Body Prayers. They are usually less than 10 minutes long, and designed to drop you into your womanly body, awaken your sensual presence, and reconnect with the untamed wisdom of your Inner Woman™
Recently during the full moon I received this question:
“Every full moon I become very, very… well… sensitive, and on the point of a super low. I’ve read you mention a few times the part of being extra sweet and kind to yourself during these days but somehow I manage to go the wrong way every time. What can I do?”
‘A’ also shared that she is not on hormonal birth control and the full moon coincides with her moon-time, her bleeding phase. And she experiences constant hunger, pain in the breasts and mood swings for over a week prior. And a feeling of no longer ‘being me’. She finished with saying: I love being a woman. I do. But oh how I wish I didn’t have these moon cycle swings.
Thank you for your question ‘A’, I know a lot of women can relate, but I promise you it doesn’t have to be that way.

I gently pour a droplet of oil into my palm, and let my hand guide the oil into my body, slowly discovering the landscape of my feminine body on this day, in this moment. Discovering the Inner Woman that is alive in me today, and the stories my body is whispering.
I use self-massage a lot – it awakens my sensual instincts, nourishes my body and is one of the easiest ways I know for getting in touch with my Inner Woman and shifting any stagnant emotions in my body.
Self-massage creates the space I need for being with everything that is our world today. And for staying connected to my Inner Woman in both the brightest and darkest moments.
A Yoni Steam, also known as vaginal steam, is the ancient practice of sitting or squatting over steaming pot of water infused with herbs. It’s a powerful ally for women’s vitality in nourishing the uterus, regulating irregular cycles, reducing menstrual pain + imbalances and supporting fertility and reproductive health. It also supports spiritual and emotional cleansing and healing by reconnecting a woman with her feminine center and Inner Woman.
It’s important to understand that Yoni Steaming is not for cleaning your vulva or vagina. Your vagina is inherently self-cleaning.
When the Yoni Steaming is described as cleansing, it is referring to the way the heat and steam supports our feminine bodies in their own natural release and vibrant vitality. More on the healing power of heat below.
I think of my menstrual cycle as my muse. I was always really fascinated with periods, but before I started working deeply with my cycle I had a kind of neutral relationship to it.
It was positive in the sense that I thought of it as a healthy and welcome part of my life, but neutral in the sense that, I never thought of it beyond a biological function. When I dove heart-first into the deeper layers of my cycle, using The Five Daily Questions. And began understanding the 4 phases of my inner cycle in depth, it felt like coming home myself in a way I’d never experienced.
Today it is the foundation of soulful womanhood for me, as I use it every single day to guide my life from my Inner Woman and nourish my feminine body.
Feminine rhythms and cycles are initiations into a woman’s embodied spirituality, a doorway into awakening your Inner Woman.
My daily habits and rhythms are the pillars for awakening my Inner Woman and living life from the inside-out. After all life is build by all these daily doings. And habits shape who we are and how we live.
These five daily habits are a mix of inner beliefs and daily practices that nourish and fertilize a strong connection with my Inner Woman through the many flavors of life.
These five habits are so powerful, they can transform you from feeling disconnected, confused, and wrong to living life from a place of inner connection – feeling at home in your skin and loving the woman you are.
On Valentines Day (2015) my husband and I were in a major car accident that turned my life upside down. In the past month I’ve faced some of my biggest fears and been thrown into the deep end of trusting my body’s healing process.
My connection with my feminine body, untamed instincts and experience in working with the energy of my feminine center held me through the most frightening experience of my life.
I was surprised by how the sensual work of having a solid and sacred connection with my feminine body and the devotional journey of Awakening Your Inner Woman had prepared me to face my most frightening challenge.
In the dark hour, I always come back to tending to my feminine body. That is my pilgrimage place of returning home. Home to my Inner Woman. Home to that which is timeless. Home to the knowing that I am already home, already whole.
While currently being in the throws of many (exciting) changes in my life, I’ve been feeling the dark hour wrapping around me in the moments when I’ve felt overwhelmed or vulnerable while digesting all that is happening.
In those moments I find my way back home by leaning into my feminine body. A hand on my belly while closing my eyes, a deepened breath fully experienced, lying down on my yoga mat for a moment or awakening my senses, reminds me I am held here.
As you may know, I’ve been tinkering away at this website for quite a while (with amazing help from my husband!). It’s been a slow, deliberate and intention-filled labor of love, discomfort and determination.
There were many voices trying to make it go faster at times, including my own – but I knew I had to provide the sacred time needed to inhabit the parts of my Inner Woman that was holding the vision for my work.
But today, I’m so happy to finally welcome you to what for me is so much more than a website, because to me it’s the opening of a virtual temple for women. A space created with you in heart.
